Born and raised in Birmingham, UK, to parents Tony and Jayne, Lauren is the oldest of two children.

Although her father was an Atheist, her parents agreed that a Catholic education was the right choice for their daughter. Lauren attended SS Peter & Paul RC Primary School and St Paul’s School for Girls. Despite having a fondness for the Church during her school years, Lauren renounced her faith after she left full time education and following many years of questioning her own beliefs, she now identifies as Pagan.

While many of her hobbies and interests lay in the creative arts, Lauren’s career through her twenties largely took an academic turn. During her 8.5 years as an insurance broker, she won 1 of 20 scholarship places in the UK to obtain her CII Diploma in Insurance, won the Insurance Institute of Cambridge’s Young Achiever of the Year Award 2016, and was a runner up for the BIBA Young Broker of the Year Award 2017.

Lauren currently lives in East Hertfordshire with her wife Kristy-Ellen, their three dogs Lexi, Louis, and Mable, and their leopard gecko Steve. When she isn’t writing, she tours South East England as a vocalist, performs with her local theatre company, and dabbles in makeup artistry.
